Sean Murphy
Rick has been designing and building houses and home additions in the Washington metropolitan area since the mid 1970’s. Raised in Bethesda. Rick graduated from Syracuse University School of Architecture in 1974 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He became a licensed architect in 1979. Rick has run his own design/build business, often doing the carpentry work himself. His hands on experience has given him insight into the building process that makes his designs cost effective and pleasing. Also, he’s fun to work with. Rick joined Old Dominion Building Group in 2012, and he and Sean worked together to design projects. When Rick designs your home or addition the focus is you, your family, how you live, and the space you desire. We believe that the home owner is part of the team and we all work together to create and build amazing homes. Rick is enjoying his 34th year of living in Arlington with his wife Barbara. Between them they have 5 sons, 2 daughters’ in-law, and 3 grandsons.
Matt Murphy has been working in the Residential Remodeling Industry for 15 years. During this time he has held many different positions lending to his experience as a Project Manager. Matt’s career highlights include winning the NARI Contractor of the Year awards on 5 different projects, working as a lead builder on 3 projects for the ABC television show Extreme Makeover Home Edition, earning his Certified Remodeler designation from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry as well as teaching the Certified Remodeler course. He enjoys working closely with clients to make sure that they have a good experience during the building process and making sure that their homes exceed their expectations. Matt attended Brigham Young University and George Mason University. He is a loyal DC sports fan and enjoys cheering on his hometown teams. In addition to this, he enjoys coaching Little League Baseball where he lives in Centreville, VA and helping his son hone his baseball skills. Matt is an avid outdoors-man and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
